The history and culture of Nablus is characterized by historical and cultural continuity, as well as diversity and uniqueness. Its almost 2,000-year long history gave it the title of “Uncrowned Queen Of PALESTINE”. The reason for this seems to go back to the nature of its important geographical strategic  location , and  beautiful nature.

Main Economic Activities (Industrial, Agriculture)

Nablus was and continues to be, one of the most important economic centers in Palestine. The main economic activity of the city is agriculture. Yet, there are in Nablus unique traditional industries that continue to operate, such as the production of soap, olive oil, and handcrafts. Other industries include furniture production, tile production, stone quarrying, textile manufacturing, traditional sweets and leather tanning

5. The Decision to produce electricity by implementing pilot solar planets on public buildings 
6. Investments in high efficient lighting system (LED –Fixtures( for main street.

Energy Conditions / Challenges

Nablus city as other cities and villages in Palestine rely almost totally on Israel to satisfy their energy needs. This is due to the lack of natural resources, the political situation, and the continuous growth in energy demands. Therefore, investments in sustainable energy and energy efficiency and conservation measures must  be undertaken
