CES-MED holds a Donor’s meeting in Amman, Jordan

The three CES-MED municipalities in Jordan - Aqaba, Irbid and Karak have finalized their Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans (SECAPs). To support the implementation of the plans, and more specifically of the Action Fiches, a Donor Meeting took place on 21st of November 2017 in Amman, whereby the SECAPs and their priority projects on Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Energy prepared for Jordan were presented. 

Morocco launches the preparation of 13 new SECAPs

On 21 and 22 November, the Ministry of Energy and Sustainable Development (MEM) in Rabat held a two-day training session to launch 13 new SECAPs in Morocco.
Organized in collaboration with the Moroccan Association of Eco-Cities (AMEV) and the MEM, this event brought together 13 municipal technical managers mobilized on the energy and climate issues.

CES-MED published Funding Guidelines for municipalities in eight South-Mediterranean countries

The CES-MED Funding Guidelines recommend useful steps for municipalities in each of the CES-MED affiliated countries, towards securing funding for the preparation of their Sustainable Energy Action Plans (SEAPs) and their Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans (SECAPs).  

CES-MED supports 12 more municipalities from the South-Med region to join the CoM

The CES-MED project assisted six more Moroccan municipalities, from the network of cities of the Moroccan Association of Eco-Cities (AMEV), in their adhesion to the Covenant of Mayors (CoM).
The new communes: Belfaâ, Fam El Hisn, Figuig, Mdiq, Sefrou and Tiznit are now members of the CoM and will start to develop their Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans (SECAPs).

Meeting held in MoIM in Lebanon to facilitate the work in developing the municipal SECAPs

In line with CES-MED objectives to support the Municipalities in Lebanon, a meeting held in the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities (MoIM) with present of the Director General of Local Authorities Ms. Faten Abu Hassan and group of Municipality Mayors, to facilitate the work in developing the Sustainable Energy and Climate Adaptation plan (SECAP) for the new members in Covenants of Mayors.
