The logo of COP22 is officially announced

On 28 April, the Steering Committee in charge of the twenty second "Conference of the Parties to the Framework UN Convention on Climate Change" (COP22), revealed the event’s visual identity at the Foreign Ministry in Rabat, Morocco. The COP 22 meeting will be held from 7 to 18 November 2016 in Marrakech, Morocco.

"The selected visual identity is based on the civilizational and historical capital of the kingdom – particularly the iconic city of Marrakesh," said Salaheddine Mezouar, President of COP22, at the official presentation of the logo and added that the design was done so "every Moroccan would be able to relate to this identity’’.

The COP22 identity will represent the brand image of this international event that will bring together over 25,000 participants from 196 countries to Marrakech, including representatives and officials from the European Union, NGOs and international observers.

The Steering Committee for the next climate Summit in Marrakech also announced the roadmap of the COP 22 on Thursday, 28 April at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Rabat.

The Moroccan roadmap is considered "predictable and concrete" enough to mobilise USD100 billion in financing by 2020 for bankable environmental projects.

The action plan of the Marrakesh COP has five axis, as well as some additional thematic topics. The main focus is about the support and the backing provided by the French Presidency (COP21) by mobilising the largest number of parties to ratify, approve and even join the Agreement of Paris, before the holding of the COP22.
