In the line of CES-MED activities, the project will be holding its first per country training activities (workshops) in Beirut, Lebanon.
After some delay, CES-MED will go forward with its activities in Egypt. So far, part of the actions planned for the first phase of the project were completed, including the association of representatives of national authorities; the selection of two governorates to join the project; and conducting two training workshops with the Governorates’ staff.
On 28 April, the Steering Committee in charge of the twenty second "Conference of the Parties to the Framework UN Convention on Climate Change" (COP22), revealed the event’s visual identity at the Foreign Ministry in Rabat, Morocco. The COP 22 meeting will be held from 7 to 18 November 2016 in Marrakech, Morocco.
The CES-MED team has prepared country-specific newsletters for six of the countries covered by the project and the remaining newsletters will follow shortly. The publications have been approved by the Contracting Authorities and the focal point representatives from the affiliated countries.
The sixteen-page newsletters are made of eight chapters. Focus is put on the progress of the Project at national level and in the adhering cities, including the substantial progress on the development of their SEAPs.
